Reggae superstar Damian Marley, classic rock legends Jefferson Starship, Tibetan singer/activist Yungchen Lhamo, and actor/activist Danny Glover CONFIRMED June 6-8 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa, CA
April 19, 2008 (San Francisco, CA) — Celebrating 30 years of new ideas, community activism, eco-awareness, spiritual wisdom, visionary art, and conscious music, the Harmony Festival is very pleased to confirm for its anniversary celebration the addition of Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley (Grammy-winning youngest son of Bob Marley making his first ever North Bay appearance), Bay Area music legends Jefferson Starship, world renowned Tibetan vocalist Yungchen Lhamo, and actor/ activist/speaker Danny Glover.
In addition to Danny Glover, the Festival has now also added to its engaging speakers list The World Council of Elders comprised of indigenous leaders from the Hopi, Yaqui, Hawaiian and Mayan tribes; world renowned eco-architect Eugene Tsui and organicARCHITECT’s Eric Corey Freed; and authors Daniel Pinchbeck, Kevin Danaher (also Co-Founder Global Exchange), China Galland (also Director Images of Divinity Research Project), and raw food pioneers Victoria Boutenko and Matt Amsden. They join previously announced speakers Shiva Rea (the nation’s leading yoga instructor and director of The Global Mala Project) and visionary artists Alex & Allyson Grey.
The festival will also plant one tree in Ethiopia for each ticket sold through its new partnership with Trees for the Future and will institute an event-wide greening program that includes the use of bio-degradable cups, plates and utensils, and alternative energy powered stages and attractions.
