Winning North Carolina by an impressive margin, Obama has regained his momentum in the Democratic presidential race. With 99 per cent of votes tallied in North Carolina, Obama had won 56 per cent support compared to 42 per cent for Clinton. In his speech delivered Tuesday night, Obama said, "We have seen that it's possible to overcome the politics of division and distraction; that it's possible to overcome the same old negative attacks that are always about scoring points and never about solving our problems."
Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, vowed to continue her pursuit of the Democratic nomination, saying, "I need your help to continue our journey," a direct appeal to her supporters for campaign donations.
Both candidates promised a unified Democratic party, after the nomination process.
