As of November 16, 2007, the 2000 Census figures and KidsCount maintains its alarming reports that 46.2% of African American children still continue to live in single parent families. These same households are said to be the ones that produce the types of youth who are most likely to have emotional or behavioral problems, use illegal drugs, and or alcohol, be physically abused or neglected, in addition to, committing crimes which require incarceration. However, defying the term that one bad apple spoils the bunch, Global Soul Power, through the story of an undeniably determined young man proves that you are not defined by your surroundings, your surroundings are simply a platform that ultimately catapult you into the duty of defining yourself.
